O álbum "Is this it ", lançado pelo The Strokes em 2001, foi eleito o melhor álbum da década pelo semanário musical "New Musical Express ".

Em segundo lugar, ficou o álbum "Up The Bracket ", de 2002, dos Libertines, e em terceiro "XTRMNTR ", gravado em 2002 pela banda escocesa Primal Scream.
