A organização do SXSW anunciou a primeira leva de painéis do evento que acontecerá em formato digital (leia mais aqui). O SXSW Online, que vai ocorrer entre os dias 16 e 20 de março, conta já com 50 palestrantes e 230 sessões. O músico, filantropo e empresário Willie Nelson foi apresentado como keynote.

Além dos painéis da conferência, a promessa é entregar uma experiência digital com mostras de festivais de música, exibições de festivais de cinema, networking de nível mundial e “descobertas inesperadas que sempre fazem parte do SXSW”.

Sobre Willie Nelson, o diretor de programação do SXSW, Hugh Forrest, disse que “nenhum indivíduo teve o impacto cultural ou foi mais sinônimo da vibração criativa de Austin do que Willie Nelson”. Ele completou: “Estamos incrivelmente honrados em tê-lo como Keynote SXSW Online 2021”.

Entre os palestrantes estão confirmados Samantha Bee, Richard Branson, Nicholas Britell, Dave Burd (também conhecido como Lil Dicky), The Chainsmokers, Chiquis, Laurieann Gibson, Taraji P. Henson, Barry Jenkins, Jim McKelvey, Michael Lewis, Matthew McConaughey, Alexi Pappas, Queen Latifah, LL COOL J, Brian Grazer e Cynthia Erivo. A curadoria é da equipe do festival e de sua comunidade global, que pode fazer sugestões de palestrantes, painéis e outras propostas para o evento via PanelPicker, uma plataforma digital.

As sessões do SXSW Online são organizadas por temas: Uma Nova Urgência, Desafiando o Caminho da Tecnologia, Resiliência Cultural nas Artes, O Renascimento dos Negócios, Transformando o Cenário do Entretenimento, Conexão na Desconexão e Um Futuro Inexplorado.
